Governor Boboy Hamor Named Outstanding Governor of the Philippines for Excellence in Social Services

Governor Edwin “Boboy” Hamor has officially received the prestigious Outstanding Governor of the Philippines award, recognizing his exceptional leadership and "hands-on" dedication to social services in the province of Sorsogon.

The award was conferred during the 29th National Convention and General Assembly of the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. (ALSWDOPi) held in Zamboanga City. As the premier organization for social workers in the country, ALSWDOPi’s recognition carries significant weight in the field of public welfare.

Excellence Through the 7K Plus Program

The distinction highlights the effective implementation of the provincial government’s 7K Plus Program. Four of the program’s core pillars are directly dedicated to social services, ensuring that government assistance reaches the most impoverished and vulnerable sectors of the province.
Key areas addressed under this comprehensive initiative include:

Health and Wellness
Livelihood Opportunities
Education and Youth Development
Infrastructure and Tourism

A Rare Distinction

The selection process for this honor is rigorous; Governor Hamor is one of only three governors nationwide chosen to receive the award this year. This rarity serves as a clear indication of his extraordinary leadership and genuine compassion—often referred to as malasakit—for the welfare of every Sorsoganon.

By bringing government aid closer to citizens, particularly those in remote areas, Governor Hamor’s administration continues to set a benchmark for local governance. This national accolade serves as a testament to his dedication and remains an inspiration for the continued progress and development of Sorsogon.
